Photos

These are just a few photographs of some of the K9 Chums in action on Monday evenings at West Tarf.  We don't necessarily use all of the equipment every week and, sometimes, we have a bit of extra fun doing relay races.  We hope you enjoy scrolling through this selection.

Monty adores going flat out around a jumping couse, so much so that the camera even picked up the image of the dust from his strides starting before the tyre!

Rose, with the ever-steady Calley on the A-Frame.

Peter patiently guiding Mika through the weave poles.

Elaine's Cuillin proudly displaying her Fun Show Night rosettes.

Gemma and Corrie

Julia racing around the course with Tilly.  (Tilly actually belongs to Ann, our most mature class member.)

Abbie with the ever joyful Milo.  He may look a little distracted to you, but it's only because Abbie's dad is taking the photos.  A very big "Thank You, Tony" for all of your efforts on our  behalf.

Frances, with Ivy flying over the A-Frame.

Sometimes, just for a change, we do relay races.  Amazing how competitive the handlers and dogs suddenly become.

Some of the happy handlers and their dogs

Avril's sweatshirt says it all .....we are absolutely 'Barking Mad' at Pet Dog a-JILL-ity, but we and our K9 chums have a great time each week.  This is Avril's high flyer 'Dance'.

Susan gets Alfie (her Bernese Mountain Dog) to wait patiently on the dog walk while his photo is taken.  He absolutely adores dog agility, especially the tunnels, and his unbridled enthusiasm is a real joy to behold.

Louise helping Sam (their farm Collie) to carefully negotiate the dog walk.

Andy and Fred ... perfect take-off

Ellie, with Iona exiting the tunnel.

Amanda & Ace then demonstrate just how fast a dog can run across the sea-saw!  (Is there a hairdresser in the house to turn Ace back into a Collie?)

Peter teaching Bella the A-frame.  This was only her second visit to agility, but she learned quickly and, by the end of the evening, she was happily doing jumps, tunnel, tyre, dog-walk and A-frame.

'Arthur Weymes' was on holiday with us for three weeks, so here he is with me (Jill) doing rather well on his first visit to Pet Dog a-JILL-ity.

Isn't dog agility fun?  It's amazing how often dog agility comes in useful.  Monty can leap over horse jumps, walk across narrow bridges made from wooden planks, and jump across the stream in the field (if he decides not to swim in it!).  He can also weave in and out of my legs as I walk along, circle either side of me, and walk backwards in front of me .... perhaps this is how 'dog dancing' begins.

Please note that we are not an obedience training class.  However, if you are interested in 'Dog Obedience' training, I will be pleased to give you details of the classes I am aware of within our area.  Obedience is a good way of socialising your dog, and is a huge advantage before starting agility.
